CSIR NET General Aptitude Syllabus: An Overview
The General Aptitude section of the CSIR NET exam is common for all subjects and tests the basic reasoning and problem-solving skills of the candidates. This section has two major areas: Numerical Ability and Logical Reasoning. Numerical Ability deals with topics such as percentages, averages, ratios, profit and loss, time and work, and basic arithmetic calculations. Logical Reasoning includes puzzles, patterns, series completion, data interpretation, and graphical analysis. In addition, comprehension questions test reading and interpreting written information. This section constitutes a considerable part of the total marks and is aimed at testing analytical thinking. Thus, it is highly important that the candidates prepare well for this section. Preparing previous years' question papers and mock tests would help strengthen aptitude skills. A clear understanding of the General Aptitude syllabus would help in having a good base for scoring well in this section of the exam.
